WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
Painting by the Lake
The Central Coast Watercolour Society is once again hosting the popular ‘Painting by the Lake’. This year it will be held on Saturday 12 November 2016 the foreshore of the beautiful Tuggerah Lake on Tuggerah Parade at Long Jetty.
In 2015 they achieved a world record of 156 people for ‘The most people painting Plein Air on one day at one venue’.
Central Coast watercolour Society would like to attend our 2016 event on 12th Novemer.
All art media and levels of experience are most welcome. Just bring your own equipment, but if you need paint, paper and brushes there will be some on hand.
Why not bring a group or organise a bus trip for the day or perhaps stay the weekend? The Central Coast has plenty of top quality and affordable accommodation, galleries, cafes and restaurants. This event is part of the ‘Wyong Lakes Festival’, so booking accommodation ahead is recommended.
Registration for the world record challenge is free and starts from 9am. Our local artists will be there to offer assistance and suggest beautiful and interesting vistas of the lake. A marquee and shelters are available in case of rain, and a BBQ and Caf'e van will be operating throughout the day. Artists are asked to consider offering a painting for sale at the auction at 2pm, where profits will go to charities to support art.
Central Coast Council has provided funding for this challenge and is the sole organiser of the ‘Wyong Lakes Festival’.
